Remember those visits to Granny’s for Sunday dinner? The aroma of home cooked fixins fill the air as you sneak a bite of Nanna’s blackberry cobbler. Ahhhhh… Some days should NEVER end.

Not only do you get a taste of home, but you also get a hearty helping of Southern charm. You almost expect an aproned Nanna to greet you at the door welcoming you with a, “Come on in sweetie!” AND if the aroma of home cooking doesn’t already have your undivided attention, the endless entree’s certainly will. How does crispy fried catfish, smothered teriyaki chicken, and succulent sliced turkey & gravy over delicious dressing sound? How about crackling cornbread, fried okra, broccoli raisin salad, collard greens, and macaroni & cheese? Oh, there are so many pies to pick from, made in-house, from scratch, every day! Please don’t miss a moment with a slice of their yummy pecan pie! It is soooo sinful!
It’s no surprise that passersby can’t resist the urge to peek past the big green awning to pop in for a spell to try Manolia’s famed fixin’s.

GRATITUDE.
Hey, life is all about experiences, so when we had the chance to take the spacious 2021 Toyota Sienna out for a spin, I said why not make new memories. And while everyone’s busy pursuing their very own dreams makes each moment together is super super special. So, besides our typical adventurin’ around town searching for the cutest cafes (our favorite thing to do btw) we decided to #payitforward w/ a shop & drop(off) to assist the families at the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House.
We stopped by our local Kroger to stock up on groceries and other items to donate to this wonderful charity that assists families with a “home away from home” while seeking desperately needed medical care. RMHC is always in need of donations, food, and other supplies to sustain these families basic needs. Say less! With spacious seating (up to 8 people), hands-free sliding doors and power liftgate, plus a cargo area the size of a small village, “my Sienna” was more than able to handle our haul.

It’s no surprise to spot me motoring around the ATL in my 2015 Tahoe. This baby has been my “everyday / everywhere / every time” ride and I L O V E I T!!! Not only has it been super reliable (imagine chauffeuring 4 active kids, road trips, etc.), but it’s also been loads of fun to drive over the years. So when I was recently given a 2021 Chevy Tahoe Premier to test drive, I thought “What better way to ring in the holiday than with a little Christmas adventuring around town!” And the All-New Chevy Tahoe was more than happy to assist with a little holiday help.
Ok, so I’m thinking hmmm, where can I take it? Maybe a road trip? Then I said to myself, “Self; just be yourself.” Take it for a spin and chronicle all the fun. So I did just that… and from there it was literally love at first drive. The 2021 Chevy Tahoe Premier is absolutely gorgeous, very practical, and plenty of fun! There’s just so much to love about it!

My Tahoe (Hubby, take note) came equipped with a panoramic moonroof to let a little lots of sunlight in, heated AND ventilated leather seats to battle those cold Winter days and haute Atlanta nights, panoramic camera views and blind spot detection that makes even my driving look good, a power liftgate for hands-free access to your precious cargo (e.g. shopping bags), and Sirius XM satellite radio with Bose® sound to rock out to my favorite 80’s tunes along the way. 😉 The 2021 Tahoe also gets excellent gas mileage (15 city/20 highway) which makes the wallet (and the budget) very happy. And with an onboard navigation system you can easily locate the nearest mall to blow some of that extra cash. 😉 The Tahoe also comes with a hands-free infotainment system featuring built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi that connects to your wireless device w/ Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™, so making and receiving calls (and even text messages) feels like you have a personal assistant along for the ride. So with all of these goodies at my fingertips, what else is there to do but take this baby on a holiday adventure cause Christmas aint gonna “Christmas” itself, amiright?!

Speaking of trees… One of my favorite family traditions is Christmas tree shopping. Each year we set out to find the perfect tree to chop, but not any ol’ ride will cut it. (pun intended) You’ve gotta be sure your ride can accommodate everyone AND carry a 10’ tree. No sweat! The 2021 Tahoe handled our tree trimming trip to Sleepy Hollow Farm like a pro! The spacious roof rack rail system was perfect to chauffer our holiday haul home. Saving space is super important and this baby has P L E N T Y! I mean the extra roomy cargo could hold enough presents to make even Santa a little jelly. LOL
A Show Stopper On Wheels
Being a diva that’s all about what’s happening around town, I’m always attending events and everything in between. No matter when I go, arriving in style for me is everything —so needless to say, looking fab is a must. And what better way to show your sense of style than to pull up in a chic SUV like the 2021 Chevy Tahoe Premier. With its jeweled headlights, comfy leather interior, and premium touches throughout, this baby is definitely red carpet ready! My Tahoe accompanied me to several holiday-themed events like Christmas light shows, holiday pop-up spots and cute coffee shops. And although I was looking uber fab at these events, my Tahoe definitely stole the show. 😉
My Tahoe and I had a fabulous time! Here’s to many more exciting roads to travel, and to all of the twists and turns along the way, because life would be no fun without them! Well, that’s exactly the energy I felt in the super groovy 2020 Chevy Bolt EV.
During National Drive Electric Week, I got to take this energetic little compact on an adventure around town. Lemme tell ya… I had the most exhilarating experience e-v-e-r, and I was shocked to find that my spunky sidekick has way more energy than me! LOL
They say that “big things come in little packages” …well this cute-little-compact is one hip head turner that doesn’t shy away from big adventures. Wanna be noticed?… No problem. Not only is the Chevy Bolt EV showstopping stylish, but it comes in 9 electric colors that makes any commute an instant attention grabber. My Bolt (or “Bolt Bae” as I called her) was Kinetic Blue Metallic which matched my personality perfectly. Bold. Fun. And oh-so Fabulous!

If you haven’t heard the buzz about the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV… It’s electric! That’s right! The Bolt EV is COMPLETELY electric which means NO pit stops at the pump people!!! Wondering how to charge this precocious car? No problem! You can charge up at home using the standard 120-volt portable charge cord that plugs into any 3 hole outlet — or — simply use your smartphone with the myChevrolet Mobile App with Energy Assist to plan the most efficient routes and locate the nearby charging stations (over 40,000+ to be exact) so you can re-charge without the worry. I bet you’re wondering how it performs on the road… Well, this baby is no slouch. I love, love, love that “Bolt Bae” is very reactive on the road. It may be small in stature but this baby handles the open road like a boss!!! The Chevy Bolt EV features all-around sensors + “bird’s eye” view cameras to help you steer clear of pesky hazards. Also, the on-board navigation is like having a personal assistant at your beckoning call… less the unnecessary latte runs, of course. 😉 The Bolt EV is super efficient and handles very nice + since it’s electric you’ll spend NO $$$ on gas (saving around $1,000/yr on fuel cost), LESS time and money on maintenance, and MORE time just having fun. Fact: I’m addicted to adventure. Full stop. It’s easy to spoil yourself when there’s so much to do, and “Michael Bolt-on” (nickname #2) was more than up to the task of getting me to my fave spots around town. Shopping was no sweat since I could easily fit the day’s haul in the spacious hatch. ♫ How did I ever live without you… ♫ 😉
Heading out for cocktails at The Garden Room, and brunching with your besties at Southern Belle is a bet since the Bolt EV easily accommodates 5 passengers. Not only is it roomy with a view but it’s the perfect “spark” for a conversation. 😉 Everywhere we went curious onlookers asked “What is that?” or, my favorite “Is that an electric car?” I thought you’d never ask! 😀

Don’t know where to begin? No worries! Antlers Ridge offers concierge services to take away the worry of planning your big adventure so you focus on making memories. I have to admit, the personalized pampering was much more than expected. Our Lodge Concierge created an intimate and unforgettable dining experience with Sourwood Executive Chef Richard Stack. Ok, so Chef Richard created a moment y’all! Four courses of succulent servings paired with a selection of regional wines by Fainting Goat. Dee-lish!!! Can you be in heaven AND on cloud 9 at the same time? Asking for myself. 😀 Chef also mentioned that all of the ingredients were sourced locally and organic to the region which made our meal even more special. Needless to say our 5-star dining experience was unforgettable, and lemme tell ya, the Scallop Crudo and fresh Watermelon Salad were by far the best I have e-v-e-r had!!! Yes, and more please! Bet you don’t get this kind of experience below the trees. 😉
